The Green Energy of Tomorrow

The Whitethorn solar project is a utility-scale facility located in Pecos County, Texas, and forms part of the broader Greasewood cluster currently being developed by Ashtrom Renewable Energy. The cluster also includes the company’s operational flagship project, Tierra Bonita (306 MWac), located in the same region.

Start of construction for this project commenced in 2025, with commercial operations targeted for 2029. The facility is being developed to deliver utility-scale renewable energy, supporting regional electricity demand.

As part of the development process, the project team is advancing grid interconnection and Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) activities. The development builds on Ashtrom Renewable Energy’s experience in Texas, applying proven capabilities from previously delivered projects in the region.
