About Ashtrom Renewable Energy:

Ashtrom Renewable Energy operates as an independent power producer (IPP) and specializes in developing, financing, constructing, and operating large-scale renewable energy projects.


About The Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives across Texas, focused mostly on utility-scale solar and BESS projects.

This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious initiative-taker to identify and execute new market opportunities and strategic partnerships that drive the company’s long-term growth goals. This position requires working across multiple internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, project development, project management, finance, legal and environmental, etc.

This position is based in Austin, TX (Onsite) and reports to the U.S Managing Director of the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify, evaluate and execute new opportunities, including landowner relationships, site feasibility, grid capacity, interconnection management, permitting, offtake strategies, preliminary economic analysis.

  • Project Development: Lead and manage development activities, including detailed DD processes (legal, technical, environmental), studies & surveys, permits, etc.

  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate between external and internal stakeholders, including landowners, public utilities, regulatory entities and legal, technical, environmental, regulatory and financial consultants.

  • Project Management: Responsibility over project deliverables, tasks, budgets and schedule, and risk management.


    • Requirements:

    • 8-12 years of experience in business and project development of utility-scale solar or BESS projects.

    • Demonstrated experience in the ERCOT market.

    • Previous experience in a project finance environment.

    • Demonstrated experience with new business initiatives and opportunities, including site identification, permitting process, environmental studies and requirements, offtake strategies, interconnection applications and requirements, and other activities and work streams required for renewable energy projects.

    • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and prioritize effectively.

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Science Law, Business or Economics.
